Sandwitches Café is a quite haven in the heart of York beside the busy market. We serve an extensive menu of home made quality food and great Coffees in one of the oldest standing former houses in York.
According to York Conservation Trust “ 12 Newgate is probably the second oldest dated house in York. The range Nos. 12 to 15 Newgate represents the surviving units of a row of timber-framed houses built in the churchyard of St. Sampson in 1337, facing south-east along Newgate. “ We have two quirkily themed upper storey seating / dining areas where you can sit amongst original timbered walls and relax. As well as our extensive menu which is available daily we can also cater for private parties of up to 26 guests. If you are looking for a quaint and cosy venue with a twist you and book here.
We are Dog Friendly and welcome your well behaved four legged friends, both indoors and outside. If they are thirsty after walking around York please just ask and we will be more than happy to provide a water bowl.
